Rohr in Niederbayern - Monastery Church of the Assumption
In 1716/1717 Provost Patritius II. Master builder Joseph Bader assigned the construction of the new monastery church. Bader has already raised the tower of the monastery church for the Rohr monastery and built a pilgrimage church. So the provost entrusts him with the construction of the new monastery church. Egid Quirin Asam is brought in to design the interior. He is significantly involved in the planning and design of the interior.
Asam creates a Baroque masterpiece with the high altar. There he depicts the Assumption of Mary with plastic figures. Asam built the altar between 1722 and 1723. He is also the creator of the two transept altars.
The organ on the west gallery from 1725 is a masterpiece by the organ builder Johann Konrad Brandenstein.
The new church is consecrated in 1722, but the actual completion is in 1725.
