Schießen - Pilgrimage Church of the Birth of Mary
The pilgrimage church of the Birth of Mary in Schießen, a community near the former Roggenburg monastery, was rebuilt between 1681 and 1686, as the pilgrimage to Schießen is becoming increasingly popular and the old church is becoming too small.
In 1781 the church was renovated and painted in line with the new zeitgeist. The Weissenhorn artists Christian Eitele and Konrad Huber are among those involved.
