Mushrooms at daybreak

This is an experiment using a laptop display and ambient light balancing to get a custom background for a shot. The shutter speed was 1/30th of a second rather than the usual sync speed of the Pentax K10d which is 1/180th of a second.

Strobist info - Mushrooms in soil lit from above with a 1/4 power Canon 430EZ firing into an umbrella softbox. The flash was coloured using a 1/2 CTO gel to blend the soil into the orangy background. The backdrop is an experiment in ambient light balancing and comes from a laptop screen.

Mist added using the patented "Oveltine batcave anti-gravity fog machine™ "
