This Red-bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) was out looking for brunch, not shopping for a new house. It didn't seem interested in the two dead tree cavities, only the bugs it had to offer. Very wildlife filled visit to the Springfield Nature Center considering all the heavy equipment work.
