The Unforgiving terrain-II

Website

Death Valley, California, 2011.

The land is so pristine that even love never dared to touch it. It is so arid that it sucked up its own tears. The ocean left it a long time ago and since then it refused to love the river, incessantly.

I visited Death Valley in November 2011 when Azam invited me to Las Vegas at his place. I never faced something like this before...vast, fearsome and humbling, yet so silent. It evoked so many emotions simultaneously and left me with the realization of my insignificance, my nothingness. It was memorable and the memory is going to last as long as I live.

My thanks to Azam for this memorable experience. I wonder if I could ever meet such a wonderful personality without getting into photography at the first place!

The images in this series feature the unique landscape of Death Valley, including the Salt Pans, Sand dunes , Badwater Basin and Zabriskie point. You can find details about the geological features of the Death Valley in Wikipedia.
