WTF

I headed out over lunch time today, whilst working from home, to grab my 365 photograph and some more shots I had in mind seeing the snow and the glorious skies.

Whilst shooting the shots I wanted something caught my eye and (now time for the rant!) damn right incensed me!

On the grass verge in plain view of the road was a black bag and carrier bag obviosuly dumped / fly tipped by some lazy soul. This in itself whilst infuriating was not the thing that really angered me.

The black bag had a 'parking style' ticket on displaying the words "Fly Tipping Under Investigation".............now you may say hoorah the council are trying to tackle the problem! well what I find the most incredulous about this situation is that a member of the council work force will have had to come out to place this sticker on the bag.......... but instead of seeing fit to tackle the problem directly the council choose to leave the rubbish in situ and add a bloody sticker to further infuriate us tax payers and almost say "yeah we know this rubbish exists and shouldn't be there, and yes it would only take the person who put the sticker on an extra thirty seconds to pick it up and place it in the council van to dispose of.............. BUT NO....... we are gonna waste time, resource and leave the countryside rubbish laden because process and protacol says we must investigate this rather than tackle it".

Well, what the heck kind of place do we live in????? no don't answer that! Cleary when the councils have money shortages and services are being cut whilst the economy goes down the pan, we your elected council are gonna spend YOUR council tax on turning a simple job into a investigation and spend more money on more resources and more time investigating the issue and maybe a few weeks / months down the line we will then send a team to clear the rubbish.

Why? why cannot this be done in the first instance? Now don't get me wrong the lazy bar stewards who fly tip should have the book thrown at them and be made to clear fly tipping up as well, but why do we feel the need to turn a one person, one hour job into a fecking PROJECT costing in the long run US the tax payer more of our council tax.

Given that my local council are proposing to cut the Saturday bulk rubbish collection to save money, will this not lead to more fly tipping and cost us much more in the long run........ especially if we have to investigate every know incident???????

Maybe I am over simplifying things but are we not over complicating things here and skirting the issues whilst leaving the countryside to decay and putting wildlife at risk???

Rant over! PHEW! anyway my 365 got hijacked today as I was so damn peeved by this chance find.
