Cinco de Clammo Spicy Clam Shooter

The roots of this drink are one part Michelada, one part Bloody Mary, and one part oyster shooter.
Micheladas are traditional spicy Mexican cocktails with some savory components like Worcestershire sauce and Maggi Seasoning (a robust, meaty flavored sauce; look for it in specialty stores or substitute with a rich soy sauce) as well as heat elements including hot sauce. The beverage is then spiked with a good dose of lime juice and before a Mexican beer, like a lager, is added.
We add tomato juice, as a nod to Bloody Marys, and substitute some freshly shucked raw clams in place of the oyster – although you could use oysters in this recipe, too.
Fresh clams like Cherrystone, Littleneck and Steamers work best with this recipe. Clams have a tendency to be a bit chewier and tougher the larger they are, and since we use raw clams in this recipe, you’ll want something sweet and tender.
