Tempura - entree - Kenzan
Tempura - entree AUD18.50 - Kenzan
The tempura batter was very light and crisp. There's a small crunch, and there's air. It's a pity though, that the fish and prawns weren't quite as fresh as I would have liked. The eggplant/aubergine was spectacular, with the skin exposed to be slightly browned by the oil, while the rest of the flesh was silky. The rest of the vegetables included, sweet potato, pumpkin, a French bean and zucchini/courgette.
For my birthday, Julia and I went to Kenzan, supposedly one of the better Japanese restaurants in town.
The decor was simple and mostly pine, but the food was quite good!
Still, the maki sushi (rolls) from Suzuran might be better, and definitely better value for money.
