Canelés - Bistro Vue

Tea and coffee at Bistro Vue are served with a little petit fours AUD5. It was Canelés today!

 

We've never had canelés before, and we were a bit uncertain at the tough caramelised crust, but the fragrance was very enticing. After consulting our friendly waitress, she explained that it is essentially a custard batter flavoured with rum and vanilla.

 

The springy centre looked like a sponge, but more chewy. Quite delicious!

 

Julia's long black coffee was very good too!
