The two previous shots cropped and rotated to be aligned as closely as possible.
As I was shooting the climber's ascent, he made a careless mistake and released his ascender from the rope, just as I pressed the shutter. This shot captures him in mid-fall, about 30 feet above the concrete below.
Luckily, his equipment still exerted some amount of friction on the rope, and when he hit the ground he suffered a broken femur and other less serious injuries to his legs- nothing life threatening, but still an exciting predicament when you're 300 feet below ground.
