Saw this poem and thought I'd share.

I am sorry for the disruption the jet noise has caused to your life.

But take a moment and think about your strife.

They fly to practice for going to war so you can feel safe.

Maybe you should put yourself in their place.

Your sacrifice of not getting enough rest.

Is a small price to pay for what military families invest.

Yes we do pay taxes but also so much more.

We pay for our loved ones who walk out the door.

And leave for months even years at a time.

Missing holidays and birthdays to give you peace of mind.

 

I am sorry you can’t go out on your porch and enjoy some lemonade.

But I am more sorry for the sacrifices a military family has made.

For those who will miss the birth of their first born or not see the first steps.

Its hard for me to fathom your upset over not getting enough rest.

While you are in your bed sleeping and knowing your family is safe.

There is a military soldier being buried in a grave.

 

It is hard to except that our loved ones will go.

And fight for people like you, people they don’t know.

But go non-the-less and fight for your freedom.

Would you rather they stop practicing?

Imagine the world we would live in?

 

So when they are up there flying and making so much noise.

They do this so Americans can have a life to enjoy.

And although you wish it could be more quiet.

Think about the father, son, wife or mother who was brought home in a casket.

 

Those are the ones who will never hear again.

They died for your right to complain.

But your grief pales in comparison.

To the child who loses a parent and all you have to do is listen.
