A Film Look at Old School TransLink Skytrain
I forgot what film I was going for, but rather like how this SkyTrain wrapped in CBC News promotional livery came out in post-processing. Otherwise yesterday - 2 May 2020 - I was going thru my 1/2018 Vancouver, BC vacation photos and found that this photo was not posted to my Flickr and TransLink was in my thoughts.
TransLink has been in my thoughts lately as TransLink is facing cuts of over 50% of its services, the crisis is so serious that Cambie Report - the Vancouver, BC municipal podcast by hard-core political fans - has covered it: www.cambiereport.ca/translink-needs-your-help/ . Now if you agree with Dr. Josipa Petrunic that, "The movement to #savetransit in #BritishColumbia is inspiring the rest of the country. Informally, mobility is a 21st century right. Perhaps its time to make it formal...an essential service, access to which is as critical as electricity for many Canadians" well then:
1) Check please you signed the Abundant Transit petition: bit.ly/SaveTransLink
2) If Canadian, ensure you wrote your MPs at SaveTransit.ca - the pro-transit coalition website.
3) If Canadians have time, go to bit.ly/MPSaveTransit and use Abundant Transit's tool to write your politicians to support transit.
