A Close Look at the Earth Science DC-8 Livery
Here's a photo from my album of the wonderful NASA Social showing off the NASA OLYMPEX exercise to verify satellite measurement of precipitation. One of the tools used to verify the satellite is a DC-8-72, a Douglas DC-8 reengined with CFM56-2 high-bypass turbofans that are used on many other airplanes, are fuel efficient and are relatively quiet.
