acanthus spinosus - bear's britches

I just looked up the botanical name for Bear's Britches. The book says: Flowers - Funnel-shaped, borne freely in spikes, to 5 feet long, white, enclosed in spiny mauve-purple bracts. Leaves - Lance-shaped in outline, deeply dessicated, with scattered spines, glossy, dark green. So there you have it!
