1965 Rambler Marlin Sports-Fastback Ad
Another attempt to gain a sportier image was Rambler's new sports-fastback Marlin, a takeoff on their concept vehicle Tarpon. The Tarpon had been based on the smaller American chassis, but the production Marlin ended up on the Classic chassis. The Marlin was never very popular, and it's generally believed the car would have been more successful on the smaller platform.
