Squatter Camp House, Soweto
one of the nicer houses in the camp. This one has a small stove, one bed, dirt floor, and a small couch. In the yard is a garden with Corn, Pumpkin, Cabbage, and two fruit trees.
Johannesburg has a rap for being dangerous but I saw or heard nothing to suggest any danger. The press tends to exaggerate problems. Even in the squatter camp, I had no problems and in fact people living here were really kind and allowed me to take photos and see inside their homes.
