I found out about these flies while living in another state and was happy to find this Dolichopodid Fly on my rosella plants yesterday. There are different types in this family with varying bright metallic colour combinations. This one is a Large Green Long Legged Fly (bit misleading as they are tiny) and as they eat smaller prey like aphids they are a bonus to have in the garden.
