New Lithgow Recycler
Years ago when I was visiting Polytrade Recycling at Rydalmere, I saw an unexpected arrival a few times also dropping off mixed recycle. The euro 5 ACCO paired with a Richards body foreign to Sydney took me by surprise at first, but then I saw Lithgow City Council in the signage and that really did me. In the old contract recycling was handled at the Lithgow waste facility, but I guess the operations there weren’t capable of receiving the new 240L commingle stream, so direct haul to Sydney with the collection trucks became the next best option. I found out JR Richards runs a pair of these bigger side loaders for fortnightly recycling, with each truck coming down every second day to drop off a full load. Normally done early morning, that’s a 3hr turnaround trip through the mountains and western Sydney.
