Beeld en Geluid - Atrium

Europe, Netherlands, Hilversum Noord, Mediapark, Beeld & Geluid, atrium (cut from B&T)

The Netherlands Institute for Beeld en Geluid (Sound and Vision, 2006, Neutelings Riedijk Architecten) is the national archives and museum of Dutch radio and television recordings. The edifice consists of 10 levels: 5 underground and 5 above ground. The archives are underground, and the media museum is above ground. The transparent façade of the building is the eye-catching part—it’s a screen of coloured relief glass designed by Jaap Drupsteen.

Shot from the museum part of the building into the atrium, on our way to the main hall where the ´50 Jaar Het Simplistisch Verbond - ´Toen werd nu’' pop-up exhibition is. The glass wall of the office slab is on the right. It's covered with giant and coarse silk-screened portraits of Dutch radio & tv celebrities.

This is number 20 of the Neutelings Riedijk album and 1580 of Minimalism / Explicit Graphism.

The soundtrack: David Bowie – Sound and Vision.
