friendship. keeping it close

i had no intention of doing the flickr thing tonight, however I came home to find a package waiting on my doorstep and this is what i found inside - the most beautiful soft luscious handmade scarf made for ME.

 

My friend sazzy(sazzola to me ) has been a steady source of encouragement as well as support for me. Sazz knew that (like many of you others) that today is the 6 mos. anniversary of my fathers passing and she knit this for me- with a card that brought tears to my eyes. I can't tell you how this wonderful gesture makes me feel- Sazzy is Beyond thoughtful and caring and selfless.

 

It reminded me of the night of my fathers birthday and David and I went over after work to see him and things were so incredibly bad but none of us thought he would be gone a week later. I sobbed the whole way home and waiting for me on the doorstep was a package from cynthia(myslideshow) - i cried even more. Then the following day my mom called and said that Dad seemed better - go get together with your flickr friends and have fun - that was the day of the "jersey meet" and we had fun, and one week later my father was gone.

 

Its just fitting that i spent time with some of my favorite flickr friends yesterday on the anniv. and after having dinner with mom tonight and talking briefly about todays date to come home to find a package from another friend i met through flicrk.. It amazes me the human spirit..

 

I only hope that im not taking all the time, but giving as well, like you all...
