Guide: What to wear in the mountains
1. wool hat Keeps warm even when wet and transports humidity from you skin and out
2. Water and wind proof anorak/parka which at the same time "breaths" (transports humidity through the fabric from the inside out)
3. Warm, wind/water proof ski gloves which at the still time breaths
4. Fleece or wool midlayer. Transports humidity from the inner layers towards the outer layers in addition to keeping you warm.
5 & 6 Wool underclothes. Wool keeps warm even when wet and can hold a lot more humidity before feeling wet compared to synthetic materials.
Transports humidity from your skin to the midlayers.
7. Wind and water proof ski pants with the ability to transport humidity from the inner layers and out.
8. Wool socks
9. A combination of synthetic (to lessen friction) and wool (to maintain the abillity to transport humidity and keep warm even when wet) inner socks.
If the weather is especially cold or if you wish to stop for some time you could wear a thick wool sweater between layer 2 and 4.
