THE WAY OF THE WAVE IS TO NEVER GIVE UP.

 

The true good resides in truth, that is, in the spiritual content of things, not as the world which the soul turns to as something to be conquered, but as the soul itself, which in realizing itself, identifies itself with the world. The universal man is he who begins by nullifying himself as an individual bound to nature; his true strength is in the capacity for such self effacement, which is the equivalent of making way for the spirit. For this purpose, wisdom of heart is invaluable, the kind of intelligence for which knowledge edifies, rather than destroys, and collaborates in building the world spiritually, even though such construction is never complete and is always in the process of being completed. Neither the pride of intellect nor mysticism without intellectual strength can work in such construction which, when all is said and done, is the realm of the Divine: religion itself cannot prepare for this realm if it is not transformed into a lofty universal vision of life, which is the aspiration of every mystique and every philosophy. And it is only this that leads to an awareness of the finite, of the universal which has its being and moves within the individual’s inner self.
