(1994) Kid Kore Native American Family

I could not be happier to have this set. Once I discovered that the childhood doll I thought was a very exotic and beautiful Katie was actually a Dancing Brook, I had an interest in getting the Heartland series dolls. When Shelly first discovered the existence of these four packs, she thought that Morning Dove was a second Kelsey sized doll. I found pictures of a really nice, slightly too expensive boxed set one day and I noticed that Morning Dove was actually sized like Katie's sister Piper, not Kelsey! Having wanted a Kid Kore doll in Skipper's size since I first learned they existed, I suddenly decided I HAD to have one of these four packs immediately for Morning Dove. Obviously, I knew that I was going to be even more in love with Dancing Brook when she got here because, lets face it--she uses Katie's head/body molds and basically is just Katie. No one holds a candle to Katie! The boxed set was a tad too expensive and Shelly found this pack loose for a bargain on ebay. These dolls needed a lot of work. Their hair was insane! Princess Running Deer's hair had been put into one braid instead of two. Morning Dove looked grubby and unlovable--something about her state made me less inclined to fawn over her. Dancing Brook's long hair was...SCARY. And White Eagle? What the heck was on his pants? After some doll laundry, heavy duty cleaning, boil washing, flat ironing, and another shampoo and condition, they all looked a lot more approachable. Shelly had a very good time making the ladies replacement hair accessories and a belt for Morning Dove--her outfit looks awful plain without the apron she's missing. Now they are all very lovable. Shelly wanted White Eagle to play with--I can't blame her, he's a cool dude. And now that Morning Dove doesn't look so grody, she's as amazing as I imagined. This Princess Running Deer cleaned up so nice that she looks nearly as lovely as our other one. And Dancing Brook...well, because she's basically Katie, I'd love her no matter what, but I think her long locks are much improved. This pack is such a treasure! Plus, these dolls really needed us to adopt them, love them, and, most of all, clean them!
