(1988) Teen Time Courtney Outfit & Accessories
BOX DATE: 1988
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN LINE: Skipper; Courtney
PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: Ah, the fun I had with these accessories. The art supplies are why Robin (Pet Pals Skipper) became an artist in addition to already being a cheerleader, gymnast, and honors student. I especially like that the red box opens to store her art supplies. The picture of the bear on it is so cute! The paper bear and storybook were always on her bookshelf. I liked to pretend the bear, dressed as a cheerleader like Robin, was a gift from a sweetheart. Usually it was a gift from "Fred" (played by Cool Tops Kevin) but once when we played as adults, I pretended Deuce Gorgon gave it to her. The pajamas remind me of Shirley Temple but I LOVED the shirt and vest. I also used the slippers on a regular basis--even though they NEVER stay on. The glasses are very fun. They make Courtney look cute and nerdy. The pizza...now that's a blast. I'm addicted to dolly food (actually, I'm pretty addicted to human food too). I like how Courtney came with a nice big pizza with two slices and Skipper came with extra snacks. I also love her red soda cup. It can be used like a regular beverage can--meant to be used once. However, I liked to pretend it was washable and meant to be reused. Actually, Shelly has a real reusable drink can like that--it's orange. It looks like a tall, slim soda can, but it has a tab you can pull to open/close it and even insert a straw. So, my use of this was pretty realistic. I used the nail polish a lot--usually with my cardboard beauty supplies from my Cool Crimp doll.
