(1994) Babysitter Skipper & Babies Outfits & Accessories
BOX DATE: 1994
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN PACK: Skipper, 3 babies
SPECIAL FEATURES: Dissolving bag that reveals name bibs
IMPORTANT NOTES: The babies' outfits also originally had velcro sewn around them so they could stick to Skipper's sweater.
PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: All six of my Babysitter Skippers have their outfit. Our first outfit like this came on Pretty Surprise Barbie, who we call Jenny. Technically, it went to Adrian--the Babysitter Skipper I bought from the same seller a LONG time afterward. (For the full story, see Wet 'N Wild Skipper.) Only one of my other's didn't come to me in her outfit and I had one in storage at the time for her to wear right away (hoarding duplicated dolly fashions comes in handy!) I believe the outfit pictured here belongs to Martha--the Babysitter I got boxed for Christmas 2003. At any rate, all the accessories belong to Martha and her three little friends. I still remember the day I got Martha. Dad ordered us a truck load of 90s and early 2000s Barbies on eBay. He let us pick them out ourselves but then pretended we didn't win any of the auctions. Then he had us help him pick out gifts for one another at the store because we "didn't get any of the stuff on eBay." I knew when I looked under the tree and saw boxes on Shelly's side that weren't the poorly wrapped trapezoid shaped boxes with Bratz stuff I wrapped, that we DID get stuff on eBay. Dad put this set in the middle of the tree "To Colleen and Shelly," beside a larger box that contained our Travelin' Sisters! This box had me puzzled for a minute. Why was it addressed to both of us? The Travelin' Sisters were obvious--I was getting Stacie and Skipper and Shelly was getting Barbie and Kelly. Then it hit me--it must be the babysitter because Dad knew the babies were for Shelly. Neither of us helped him wrap the eBay gifts--so he remembered on his own that we planned to share this one. Shelly got tons of play out of the babies and their stuff. They came with such adorable things. She used them a lot with her Krissy dolls. However, we both seem to like Denise, the dark haired baby who goes in the yellow outfit, the best of the bunch.
