(1989) Cool Tops Courtney Outfit & Accessories
BOX DATE: 1989
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN LINE: Skipper; Courtney; Kevin (dated 1990)
MISSING ITEMS: 2 cardboard accessories
PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: I really like this outfit because I still remember first getting it on my second Cool Tops Courtney when I was younger. I used to play with the hair accessory and t-shirt clip a lot. I liked the baggie yellow top. While it's more Robin's (Pet Pals) personal style, I was more into Ann (Phone Fun) when I got it, so I've used it more on her. It still makes me think of Robin though--the tank screams "cheerleader" and the skirt says "good student." Sums Robin up. I got a third Cool Tops Courtney, stuffed back in her box (WHY couldn't it have been the Skipper? Mine is SO incomplete!). It is her stuff pictured here. She's missing her shoes. I don't know if she was always missing them (my childhood Aladdin never had his harem pants and my first ever fashion pack was missing a piece) or if the previous owner lost them. However, I found an accurate pair of red flats somewhere in my hoard of Skipper flats. I remember my childhood doll coming with one that was broken, but I don't remember having a whole pair. And I know the ones in the photo didn't come with my boxed doll, so I don't know where these came from for sure, or why my boxed doll didn't come with shoes. Still, I think it's pretty boss that I got most of the cardboard pieces. The purse is quirky, I like it!
