Inner Lycus Sulci (THEMIS_IOTD_20110221)
This unusual surface texture is found on the northwest part of Olympus Mons on the planet Mars. The origin of this texture and the rest of Lycus Sulci is unknown, but speculations include glacial or volatile rich materials as part of the cause of such textures. The scene here measures 18 x 67 kilometers (11 x 42 miles).
