Sugar Creek Covered Bridge, Glenarm, IL

The Sugar Creek Bridge at Glenarm, IL is also called Hedley Bridge, which was built about 1827 by Thomas Black and his neighbors who felt the need for something more than a ford. Originally, it was a wooden bridge but not a covered one. In 1880, Glenarm township authorities built a Burr arch covered bridge spanning 60 feet over Sugar Creek The bridge was restored in 1965 and today it is open to foot traffic only.
