Built in 1905, the three-story, domed Logan County Courthouse in Lincoln, IL (pop. 15,370) is considered the second most architecturally spectacular surviving historic courthouse in Illinois (after the Macoupin County Courthouse in Carlinville, IL). This courthouse building replaced the earlier Logan County Courthouse built in 1853–54, where Abraham Lincoln once practiced law. This courthouse is the centerpiece of the Lincoln Courthouse Square Historic District, National Register of Historic Places #85003166.
