Mizar A B & Alcor : B&W 6 Frame Stack : 3 Min Total Exposure
This is a cropped image that shows the binary star Mizar and it's double Alcor.
This may look like one star without any magnification (it's the second star in the handle of the big dipper) - but look closer and you can split them quite easily with the naked eye. When you use a telescope at very high power you can split Mizar A and Mizar B into two seperate stars.
Unfortunately I forgot to return the camera settings back to colour, I had been imaging the moon earlier. This also means that there was a lot of ambient light in the sky which will affect the quality of the imaging data that can be caught.
On the next imaging session I will get a full colour image and hopefully more stars in the background.
