Chuck Manges
M 94 Crop
This is a crop of the first image taken with my new scope:
Orion ED102T CF Triplet Apochromatic Refractor Telescope.
Orion Sirius German-equatorial Computerized Goto Mount
Images aquired using APT
Guided with Starshoot Autoguider and 50mm guide scope
Aligned and stacked with Nebulosity
Post-process with StarTools GIMP & Windows Live Photo
7 total frames:
5x120 iso 800 Canon T3i no filters
2x600 iso 800 Canon T3i no filters
After 1 night of imaging I am very happy with the new scope. The Goto is something I should have had long ago. Image quality is 100% better with very little vignetting, when compared to my ST & SCT photos. Stars are much sharper thanks to the Crayford Dual Speed Focuser and Apochromatic Optics. This scope has a 3" focuser, using my 2" ultra wide adapter from my SCT. I only shot 2-600 second frames to test the telescopes optics. Traking was great, but a few bugs to work out.
