I really thought my apartment was on fire.

before we left for dinner, I told my sister "make sure the oven is off!" (I had been preheating it, but then we opted to run out for dinner instead)... when we got home just a little while later, *our* building was being evacuated, the strobe lights and alarms were going off, and there were three firetrucks parked in front of our stairs.

 

I asked my sister like three times if she was sure she had turned off the oven, haha! turns out the alarm system just had a glitch in it... but yikes. quite a few apartment buildings around here have burned down recently, it's scary!

 

I took this through our (dirty) balcony door after they gave us the all-clear to go back inside.
