Sunset Silhouettes

The Great Blue Herons are back to the rookery! So far only four males. (note the plumage) I am wondering if they come back first to secure the nest and then the females return. They were fighting over who could have the top nest in the tree so there must be some sort of hierarchy to the position of the nests? SO wonderful to see them return!
