In Mongolia because of the coldness, there’s a phenomenon that we’ve seen twice in the last ten years. It’s called “dzud” where you have a drought in the summer and an extremely cold winter. The Asian Development Bank is helping herders combat the consequences of climate change by training them to cultivate fodder or animal feed that is more resilient towards extreme weather changes, using plants that are adapted to the area.
