“PCMC Demolishes Illegal Bungalows In the Indrayani Flood Zone.”
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation demolished 36 unauthorized bungalows in the River Villa project at Chikhali on Saturday, following Bombay High Court’s refusal to grant an interim stay. The bungalows lie within the blue flood line of the Indrayani River. Residents claimed they were misled by the developer and pointed to legal land deeds and civic water and power connections. Despite a pending civil writ hearing on June 9, demolition proceeds per NGT’s 2023 directive. PCMC has disconnected utilities and issued evacuation notices ahead of monsoon restrictions.
