The wanderer
This hunk of a male leopard is known as "Hukumuri", and is estimated to be about 6 years old. His origins were all a blur when he first came in to the area of the northern sabi sands. Through spot-comparisons from pictures online, they were able to find out that he originated from far south in the Kruger park itself, wandering as the crow flies, around 100km`s, probably criss-crossing a lot on the path, before he found this piece of land and claimed it for himself in the northern parts of the sabi sands.
He is now a successful dominant male, although being on of the "smaller" males in the greater area, he has pushed bigger males, making them shift their territory, a true fighting spirit. He has recently become, most likely as it is without dna impossible to know for sure, a father as two of the females in his territory has given birth to 1 and 2 cubs! He is a wonderful specimen, and I can't wait to "meet" him again in November!
