Beautiful, misty sun rise at Rubjerg Knude Fyr

The lighthouse is one of North Jutland's most visited landmarks for both locals and tourists. It was expected to crash into the ocean within next 5-10 years 😧 In order to preserve the lighthouse, Danish Nature Agency and Hjørring Municipality are preparing to move it about 80m inland this year (14 August, but the works already started). The lighthouse moving project will cost 5MLN DKK - more info at: fyretflytter.dk/

The light in Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse was lit for the first time the 27. December 1900. The lighthouse was built on the coastal slope’s highest point 60 metres above sea level and a good 200 metres inland.
