Lost Lost Lost Is The Wearer

Small spider weave on a silver sleeve,

Oh, weave your grey web nearer.

From a golden crown let your silk hang down,

For lost, lost, lost is the wearer.

-Spindle's End, by Robin McKinley; a retelling of Sleeping Beauty.

Geoff and I set out to take this photo while we were in Kansas recently, as I had found a suitable cluster of trees to decorate with spider webs.

After I got the webs set up, I started to get my camera ready, only to discover that the battery in my camera was dead. Oops, no big deal. Geoff went back to the house for my camera bag and my spare battery. Which was not there, as I had forgotten to pack it. So Geoff went back to the house again for his camera, which saved the day and let me take my photo.

Being Kansas, it was very windy while I was taking this, which was fantastic and created all the billows of fabric and web without me having to even do anything :)
