Subconscious Password / Chris Landreth
Subconscious Password is a seriously self-ironic observation of ageing, friendship, the foibles of memory, and Freudian guilt structures. Moving from banal situations in apparent live-action, Chris Landreth flies us to the ends of the brain’s dendrites and synapses in monstrous digital representations of childhood nightmares. The jury of the Prix Ars Electronica felt that the fluent visual effects blended seamlessly with CG animation represent the experience of a “senior moment,” another milestone for Landreth as he continues to master visuality and technology to represent his favorite theme: the deeply subjective paranoia of correct social behavior.
