FOUNDING LAB Fall Term Chapter 1 Workshop: Music Materiality and Media Archeology

The workshop introduced the concept of media archaeology, a method of learning that involves dissecting and deconstructing technology, often through the lens of discarded or obsolete materials. In this context, students were encouraged to explore the "waste of music," suggesting a focus on repurposing and reimagining outdated or discarded musical equipment and technology to create new and innovative sonic experiences.

In the end, Darsha Hannah Hewitt's workshop provided a rich and immersive exploration of the intersection between sound, technology, creativity, and repurposing—an inspiring journey into the world of music materiality and media archaeology.
