Cellini's Salt Cellar at Deep Space 8K
Photo showing a detail of Cellini's Salt Cellar (in Vienna called the Saliera, Italian for salt cellar) is a part-enamelled gold table sculpture by Benvenuto Cellini. The Saliera is the only remaining work of precious metal which can be reliably attributed to Cellini. On 11 May 2003, the Saliera was stolen from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. It was recovered in 2006.
A Gigapixel image of the Saliera can be seen at the Ars Electronica Center’s Deep Space 8K.
