Escape

In 1942, a US Army Air Corps AT-7 plane crashed into Mt. Mendel. The wreckage was discovered in 1947, but not all the bodies were recovered. A few years after we climbed this route, the body of one of the missing airmen was found very close to here, partially encased in ice.
