In The Center Of The Perfect Storm - Wildlife

In The Center Of The Perfect Storm - Wildlife by Daniel Arrhakis (2018)

Worldwide wildlife populations are vanishing at an ever-accelerating pace, as a new report by the World Wildlife Fund has found. We are the last generation that can save nature !!

The conservation group’s 2018 “Living Planet Report” finds an astonishing “overall decline of 60 percent in the population sizes of vertebrates between 1970 and 2014 – in other words, an average drop of well over half in less than 50 years.”

That compares to just four years ago, when the report found a 50 percent decline between 1970 and 2010.

“The situation is really bad, and it keeps getting worse,” the director general of the World Wildlife Fund, Marco Lambertini

To make matters worse, humankind is faced with extreme climate change, conflicts in countries where there is an urgent need to save endangered fauna and plants, denialist policies on global warming and environmental protection measures, illegal global trade or legal status of endangered species, growing deforestation at an unprecedented rate, fueled by large fires and the promotion of crops such as Oil Palms, etc.

The only planet that has life in the Solar System and that we know until now ... until we finish it!
