a repost, to share the news that this photo got selected as one of the winners in the DCist Exposed Photography competition dcistexposed! yay! this is the first time I submitted my photo to a competition, and it will be part of a gallery show next week, so I am quite excited. A special thanks to my flickr friend Tony Flipmode, who has a fantastic photostream. He urged me to apply to this competition, otherwise I would have never known :)

... at an Ai Weiwei exhibit at the Hirshhorn, that I saw a few days ago. very interesting stuff. these are rusty metal pipes obtained from construction sites, arranged extremely artistically, like curved, undulating earth. it's hard to get a sense of the 3D aspect from this shot ...
