ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington National Cemetery workers screw niche covers on after the remains of six unclaimed veterans were placed in the new Columbarium Court No. 9 on May 9, 2013. The cemetery dedicated its ninth columbarium court by conducting a joint full honors committal service the veterans. The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which oversaw the construction of the columbarium, used lessons learned from previous columbarium construction, which included the ability to remove one niche cover at a time when inurning remains.
