Moline, IL South Park Mall ~ light fixture
Had to take an impromptu trip to Moline on Saturday to pick up some architectural plans and did some back-to-school shopping. My 10-year old and I ended up at this mall that seemed to be on life-support, but it did have some interesting Mid-century Modern details.
South Park Mall opened in 1974 and was developed by General Growth Properties. The original mall was a modified T-shape with Montgomery Ward's, Younker's, and Von Maur as anchors. Penney's was quickly added in 1978 and finally Sears in 1990. The mall is now owned by Simon Properties.
