Los Angeles, CA Coulter's Department Store (the Broadway) 1972

Southeast corner of Hauser Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard.

Coulter's was a venerable department store in downtown Los Angeles that eventually moved out to the Miracle Mile in 1938. It was acquired by the Broadway in 1960. This store closed in 1979 in anticipation of their new store that was finished at the new Beverly Center in 1982. This magnificent art deco store was demolished in 1980. It remained a vacant hole in the ground until relatively recently. The site is now an apartment building.
