SPARC trailer system for LAFE

This photo was taken inside the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Space Science and Engineering Center Portable Atmospheric Research Center (SPARC) trailer system.

Front to back: Dave Turner, Tim Wagner (behind Turner), Alan Brewer (with hat), and Coda Phillips. Turner and Brewer are from NOAA, and Wagner and Phillips are from the University of Wisconsin. The group worked to get the scanning strategy properly programmed into the SPARC Doppler lidar.

In August 2017, several state-of-the-art scanning lidar and remote sensing systems were deployed to the ARM Southern Great Plains (SGP) site for the Land-Atmosphere Feedback Experiment (LAFE) in order to collect data meant for improving study of feedback processes between the land surface and atmosphere.
