La forza di una continua e lenta erosione ha infatti scavato, nei secoli, creste a lama di coltello intervallate da piccole valli a forma di V: i calanchi, che creano un sinuoso movimento nel territorio. Stupende fioriture di ginestre, rose canine ed orchidee selvatiche rendono questo ambiente, dove la vegetazione, e soprattutto gli alberi ad alto fusto, fatica a svilupparsi, un paesaggio suggestivo e quasi surreale, circondato dalle verdi colline, ricche di pregiate uve, che da Ciano scendono fino alla pianura. Una cornice naturale per il piccolo paese di Ciano e le sue bellezze storico-culturali: la chiesa di San Lorenzo, che risale ai primi anni del ‘900 ed ospita un pregevole organo, il nucleo rurale con oratorio settecentesco denominato ''I Boschi'' e i ruderi delle mura castellane e di un oratorio in località Castellaccio.

The strength of a continuous and slow erosion has in fact dug over the centuries, knife-edge ridges interspersed with small valleys in the shape of V: the calanques, which create a sinuous movement in the territory. Beautiful blooms of brooms, wild roses and wild orchids make this environment, where the vegetation, and especially the tall trees, struggling to develop, an evocative and almost surreal landscape, surrounded by green hills, rich in precious grapes, which from Ciano they descend to the plain. A natural setting for the small town of Ciano and its historical and cultural beauties: the church of San Lorenzo, which dates back to the early 1900s and houses a fine organ, the rural nucleus with an eighteenth-century oratory called '' I Boschi '' and the ruins of the castle walls and an oratory in the locality of Castellaccio.
