Holed Up

Capable of living more than 20 years in captivity, five years is a more common lifespan for a wild Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio). After all, life in the wilderness is wrought with challenges. Just now, these owlish friends are seeking out and claiming winter roosts. They will be critical once the snow flies, for they will provide protection from the sometimes deadly elements. Plus, they understand how adorable they look poking out of a tree hole!

Flaunt that cuteness, little screech owl...flaunt away.
